Want to play a competitive match with at least a little bit of money on the line?
We’ll find you an opponent and set up a mildly handicapped match of either 10-ball or Straight Pool. Races are based on Fargo Ratings, and you do not need a Fargo Rating to play (we’ll calculate your skill level another way).
Everyone is charged $51.50 which covers your wager plus card fees.
You can wager up to another $100.00 (any amount), and we’ll pick the lower amount of the two players playing the match.
Members pay $0 in greens fees.
Non-members pay $25 in greens fees.
In all cases we’ll try to match players wishing to play the same game if possible. If not, the two players will need to agree on which game to play. We will also try to keep skill level relatively close, but in the event that the skill levels aren’t very close we’ll give a mild handicap to the weaker player. In all cases, there will be an option to play for more money, but the match will be for whoever wishes to play for less ($50 minimum to make a $100 prize). We will make some effort to pair players wishing to play for similar amounts.
Coin will be flipped or lag will be done to determine who breaks!
The 10-ball match will be an R13 race using the Fargo Mild tables.
The Straight Pool match will require players to reach a certain number of points based on Fargo Rating.
For the situation where two players are within 25 points of one another, we’ll go even with the stronger players ‘make number’ below. Otherwise, we’ll play an uneven race using the following chart, which should give an advantage to the stronger player.
